Re-sort investment transactions? Enigman O'Maly 08-02-2007

Due to BofA shenannigans, I have a security that has moved from one
account to another 3 times. Somehow, this has caused the transactions
sort to become screwed up - some 2006 trans now appear after some 2007
trans. Is there any way to force Quicken to re-sort them?

Hi, Enigman.

As I just said in my Reply to your other post: Please tell us which Quicken
version.

And tell us which screens you are having problems with. I know you know,
because you are sitting there looking at them. But we can't see them, so
all we can do is shoot in the dark And who knows what innocent target we
might hit? :>(

In most Windows screens, including many in Quicken, we can sort a list by
clicking on the header of a column. In Quicken's Portfolio view, for
example, clicking on Quote/Price will re-sort the securities in that order.
If you have multiple Accounts, the securities will probably be resorted
separately within each Account. Clicking on Name will return them to their
default order.

Similarly, in the Investment Register for an Account, clicking the header
for the Security column sorts all the transactions by security; clicking
Date returns it to the default. Click the same column a second time to
reverse the order - oldest first/newest first.

IF none of my shots in the dark are what you meant, please post back with
more details of what you are trying to do.

Sorry for omitting pertinent details - I'm using Quicken 2006 Premium,
and it's the Security Detail Screen that comes up when you click on an
individual security in an account. I've tried clicking the column
header on this screen, but it doesn't do the job.

I'll attach an image with the out-of-sequence dates to this post.

The detail is sorted by Date within each account.

I can't find a way to change the sort order either. You could run the
securities report and save it to excel so that you can sort it by date.
