I'm a 2005 user ready to reluctantly upgrade to 2008. I'll have the CD.
Any suggestions or advice?

1) Backup the accounts
2) Copy the database
3) Run several reports to establish a baseline of the data
4) Validate the accounts.
5) Fix any problems
6) Re-run reports (if fixes were required).
7) Back up database again (to a different place).
8) Run upgrade
9) Run reports again and compare to verify data not changed.

Good luck. Chances are extremely good that you will have no problems....
