I've been using Quicken with any problems for five years. I am
currently using Quicken 2005.
Today when I went to reconcile my credit card, transactions for the
last five months appeared in the list of un-reconciled items. I looked
at the credit card ledger and sure enough, the transactions for the
last five months show "c" rather than "R" in the Clr column! All of the
transactions are there, but the reconciliation information appears to
have been lost. I opened a backup from last month and it correctly
showed those items as having been reconciled.
I haven't a clue why this happened. I haven't changed anything on my
computer, only open one data file, and have followed the same routine
for the last five years. One thing I did do slightly differently this
month (but I think I have in the past, too), was to make a payment from
checking to my credit card as I am going out of the country and wasn't
sure I'd pay my bill before I left, although I can't imagine how that
could affect the reconciliation status.
Help? Ideas?
Thanks!
Steve
PS: If I end up needing to restore the backup from a month ago, will I
have to manually enter the transactions? Is there a way to merge the
two files?
