Only true for reports that show individual transactions.

Along with subtotals at the top comes a new feature which I
love: the ability to elect to see the individual transactions
for some subtotals, while hiding the transactions for other
subtotals.

Q2006.

Odd, most folks would just let the newer version convert the
older version data (or get a free "trial version" to do the
conversion in two steps.)

If you had Quicken "convert" your data, you could revert to the
backup Intuit made of your data when it did the conversion, then
manually re-enter data that occured since that time.
Or, in your case, you can reverse the process you used to
upgrade: you can export to QIF files, then import the QIF files
into the older version. Very messy for many folks, and not all
data can be exported/imported.

Importing QIF files into versions newer than Q2004 requires a
bit of extra effort (unless you can get satisfactory results
using the "All Accounts" export/import option), but other than
that, the options and degree of difficulty are the same for all
versions.
