I'm trying to make a report with the number of shares of the selected
security within an account. Vanguard gives me a nice report in this format
and I like to do a side-by-side check.

I believe I have asked for this in the past and some expert gave me an
answer but I have forgotten it! Thanks for the help again.

Did you try Investing -> Portfolio to get the Portfolio View, then setting
Show: Holdings, Group by:Accounts and As of:<date of interest>?

You can try other Show: settings or customize the report to add and delete
columns shown.

Clicking the "+" next to a security shows the individual lots you hold on
the As of: date.

You can print the report with File -> Print Portfolio [thanks again John
Pollard!].

Is this what you want?

I don't think you can get that (a report showing running share
balances) in Quicken (but it would be nice).

Here's a thread that has a couple of ways to get a runing share
balance using Excel.

Thanks, John. I was looking for a report that I can click on without
fussing with Excel or any other external program. I'll submit my request to
Intuit.
