Have Quicken 08. All of a sudden when I try to backup to one of my flash
drives I get a message to select a valid directory. My path is
H:sjb1/7/08. As usual it asks if I want to create that directory, yes, then
I get the message about a valid directory.
Can someone tell what I am doing wrong?

Guess #1......your flash drive is full or going bad. (Have you LOOKED at a
directory and free space count lately and/or tried to pull something off of
it?)

Guess #2......use a different "path" and/or filename (IIRC, slashes in path
cause trouble)......to repeat: Have you looked at a directory of the flash
drive lately?

And don't ask me why it (seemed) to work in the past. I don't have a guess
for that !! ;-)

I don't believe "/" is a valid character for directory/file names. Try
H:sjb1-7-08, or H:sjb010708, etc.

Neither / or are valid characters for file or directory names.
