I suspect that a "buy" transaction is what your broker is sending
rather than a "cover short". You can save the downloaded transaction
file and examine it with Notepad/Wordpad to verifiy. If this is the
case, there's not much that you can do other than continuing to edit.

It's been a while since I've dealt with this ... but it sounds like Q
is using LIFO logic to select lots while you'd prefer specific lot.
Other than going back and editting the old txn to select the old lot,
there's really nothing you can do.
