I have switched my brokerage account from UBS to Wachovia, with the same
securities, that are already setup in quicken 2006 Premier. I also have a
cash account attached to the UBS account, and of course a new one for
Wachovia. What is the easiest way to reflect this change? Do you set up all
the mutual funds etc inside of the Wachovia account, which would maybe lose
the history of the individual mutual funds, right? I am not sure what is
going to happen for example when I do the Web Connect for Wachovia, as to
whether it tries adding the securities again or what.

Any insight here would be helpful.

Use the "Shares Transferred Between Accounts" transaction, which allows you
to transfer one or all of your securities.

When I switch brokers - all was always an "all in one shot". I just
renamed the accounts and change the download information (inactivate
old and activate the new). I made a comment in the comment field on
the account that it was formerly Broker X from xx/xxxx to xx/xxxx.
