Tax-related category indicator - yech (again)! Andrew 09-24-2007

On the Q2008 register, if one uses a category assigned as a tax-related
category, one now sees a little red circle with a white checkmark
superimposed. in the flags field (second line in the 'DATE' field if one is
using a two line transaction.). How does one turn this off? I don't see
any option to do so, and frankly, it's quite annoying as it competes with
the 'flags' for notice. With paychecks and deductions, many of my
transactions have this indicator, and it's not doing me any good. Just
clutters up the register.

I hope there's a way to turn this off. Attention software designers! If
you add something new to a panel that has existed before, give the user a
way to turn it off if they don't like it - even if you make it the default!
Don't assume you always know what people wish to see - give them tailoring
options! (And if indeed they did in this case, I apologize. I just don't
see it.)

I agree that this "capability" is worse than worthless. After all, how
often is someone going to want to see what transactions are tax-related?
Once a year? In that case, he'd most probably just run a report to find the
transactions. We certainly don't need a whopping great red and white
checked circle (the most vivid object on the screen) staring us in the face
the other 365 days of the year.

It won't do any good, but I'd suggest going to the official Intuit site and
posting this under their Product Feedback and Suggestions forum:
