I tend to accumulate money in a checking account and, when the balance
is high enough, transfer some to a money market fund, where I get a
better return.
This works fine, but it's clumsy when savings goals are involved. I
have to release any earmarked money into the checking account, make
the transfer, and then contribute it again to the savings goal.
Is there a more graceful way to manage this? Or are there software
packages that handle it differently? I like the idea of earmarking
funds, but my current system is too cumbersome. Thanks.
