I would have prefered to stay current but only with an equal or
improved product. I like simple and efficient versus colorful with
graphics. And I'm not very frugal when it comes to software that I
find improved. I haven't seen improvements that'll benefit me though.
In fact, the reverse is true for things like the Register view. Q98
puts 50% more transaction lines on my screen than Q2008. That's a big
difference in a feature that's important to me. To someone else, the
Register may not be important at all. On the other hand, Q2008 has
features that are apparently important to other people but are totally
lost on me.

If you just want to put more transactions on the screen at one time you
can consider using the "one line display" option,which eliminates the
MEMO field. At least, this works in Q07.

Yep, I think it works in all Q versions, including Q2008 and Q1998.
