My local Circuit City had a $50 rebate on the Sandisk 1GB Ultra II SD Plus
USB card last month.

That's the SD card that converts into a USB drive by flipping down the sides
to expose the USB connector, comes with a keychain carrier.

$64.11 + $0.39 postage, with a $50.00 rebate worked out to ~$14.50 for a 1GB
SD/USB drive combo.

I suspect CC wanted to book sales before end of 2006, and pay off on the
rebates in 2007.

So, I would watch Circuit City circulars for more such deals before
year-end.

Bob

P.S. Of course, I'm taking a risk by counting on CC being a going concern
long enough to pay out rebates ;-)

Keep an eye on buy.com for deals. Right now if you use Google Checkout,
you get $10 off a $30 order or $20 off a $50 order. Toss in a mail-in
rebate and you can get prices way down - I got a 1GB SimpleTech drive
for $6 after rebate and the Google coupon. But I can't recommend that
particular drive, as it's ridiculously slow.
