1. You don't need to "uninstall" Quicken. Just delete the folder where it
is stored. If you can't find it, don't worry about it.
2. If your friend is very computer-savvy at all, he may be able to
resurrect your data files. ALL of them! Not just your QDATA files.
3. At least reformat the hard drive before you give it away. Depending on
your friend's knowledge and resources and honesty, that will probably be
safe enough.
