Updating Upcoming Transactions Without Updating all Future Transactions Patrick 02-25-2008

Hello,
I'm a new user to Quicken (sort of). The last version of Quicken I have
used was the Dos version before it even made it into Windows. I have been
using Money since then.

I've now switched back to Quicken for a multitude of reasons that I will
not bore you with. Maybe someone can help me. I don't see it in the help.
I would like to update my insurance bill that I am paying on 3/4 without
changing the entire future payments. In Money, I could do that by saying
only edit this instance. Does Quicken have that functionality? At this
point, the only thing I can think to do is go ahead and enter it into the
register. Is that the only answer?

The easiest way, is to just enter the transaction into your register
and edit it to the other amount.

OR, you could edit the scheduled transaction to skip 1 payment, and
input the 3/4 transaction manually.

If you have set the scheduled transaction to "remind" you to
enter it, you can click "Enter" when you see the reminder at the
bottom of your account register, and Quicken will give you the
opportunity to modify any of its fields before you click OK to
place it in your register.

If you have it set to automatically enter into your register,
modify it after Quicken has entered it in the register.

Well that I understand. I was hoping it wasn't the answer though. There
are many times when I need to update 1 bill one time that might be 2 weeks
into the future because I find out the amount is different that early in
advance. It's probably the only place I see that Money is a bit stronger.

If you set your 'reminder' early enough (2 weeks?), you can do what John
suggested without modifying your original scheduled transaction.
