Hi All

I live in the UK and run Quicken 98 Deluxe with the Year 2000 patch.. I have
used the program from 1998 and basically have not problems. I do not do year
ends so my data is from 1998 to present day, this allows me to access any
data and do any comparisons.

I am thinking of upgrading to Quicken 2007 Basic from the States as it is no
longer available in the UK, as I think an upgrade is possibly overdue. I
understand that the UK pound can be selected without any problem but
obviously the connection to banks would not work here in the UK.

Any comments or Suggestions please - Please reply to the news group.

I presume you to be saying you are using Q98 UK: if so, you have
a bigger problem than just not being able to download from UK
banks.

Quicken will not convert your data from your UK version the the
US version.

Your only option would be to export your UK data to qif files,
then import them to the US version. This is a significantly
difficult process for the typical Quicken user. And even when
as successful as possible, it will not bring along all your UK
data.

Thanks for the reply.

A friend just back from the States has bought me a copy of quicken 2007
Basic. I Installed it on another PC just to try.

I can report it converts all the data without any problems what so ever and
works perfectly in every respect.

Hope this is of help to others. Operating system is XP Pro SP2 incidently.

Mike, are you saying that the US version of Quicken 2007 Basic was
able to convert your Quicken UK data file?

Hi

Yes the Quicken 2007 Basic ver from the USA works perfectly here, and
converts the data file I have been running from 1998 perfectly.

Prior to getting this software I emailed Intuit and they told me it would
work fine except for connection to the banks - this will not work in the UK

Apart from this every thing works PERFECTLY. The version I bought was Ver 2
and you need to download the update patch to take it to version 4.

It is a mulit-currency version with most currencies in the world being
supported, and a bit of setting up is needed on this front to get to the
PERFECT I described above.

It was purchased in the States bundled with another Intuit program and the
Actual cost of Quicken 2007 Basic equated to £5 and yes this is not a miss
type I mean five pounds, this is typical of rip off UK

Hope this info helps.
