What Vanguard does is identify each fund with a fund number and an
Vanguard account number. All Vanguard funds with the same account
number go into the same Quicken account in Direct downloads. So to get
the downloads you want, you need a different account number for each
grouping. For example I have different account numbers for taxable,
IRA, and Roth accounts I have at Vanguard. If you open a new fund,
make sure they use the account number for the right grouping. I
bought a new IRA fund and they used my taxable account number as a
default instead of my IRA account number. It downloaded to the
"wrong" account in Quicken although Vanguard had it in the correct
group. They didn't understand when I called up to ask them to change
the account number but they did it anyway. Fixed the problem.
