quicken 2008. up until today it worked fine until I updated to revision

You didn't provide any specific information about what happened;
there are a great many reasons for problems with downloads.

If you have a firewall, did you remember to re-allow Quicken to
access the internet?

Sorry. I use IE to goto my bank and download the quicken file. I then
run the file and it loads the latest checking info into quicken.

Before rev 4 this worked fine, now absolutely nothing happens. I have
2007 on another laptop and it seems fine proving it is not the actual
downloaded file

One thing you could do is uninstall Quicken 2008 and selectively
reinstall. By that I mean do not let the system update to Release 4.
Instead insist on keeping what ever is on you disk. Then go to the
Intuit web site and perform manual updates for Releases 2 and 3.

For the record, I have Quicken 2008, Vista Home Premium and bank at
SunTrust. Based on your posting I watched the update process. There
was a warning on the Quicken update approval window I do not
previously remember. The warning says " BEFORE YOU UPDATE
If you use online account services (transation download or bill pay),
verify that you have completed all previous online sessions before you
update Quicken. . . . "

The Window was certainly there before, but I do not recall that
specific warning.

Anyway, I downloaded the patch and tried twice to run it. Both times
I got an error message saying there was an error in the patch engine.
I then decided to post the error on this board and ran the update a
third time to get the exact error message text. The third time was
the charm. I am hoping Quicken downloads normally tomorrow. Should
it have an issue, I will reinstall and only update to Release 3

Hi, Gordon.

> I got an error message saying there was an error in the patch engine.

I got that, too, on my first several tries to update to Release 4. Even
when I right-clicked qw.exe and clicked Run as Administrator. :>(

So I opened an Administrator:Command Prompt window and ran qw.exe from
there. The download worked as smooth as silk, just like it was supposed to.
;<)

But I don't download transactions - from banks, credit cards, stockbrokers
or anybody else - so I can't comment on that aspect.
