I have been trying to convert my Microsoft Money 2004 (Canadian) data file
into a new copy of Quicken XG 2006, with no success. I went to the quicken
help file, it told me to download a data converter utility from the inuit
web site. I did so, and followed the instructions. I now have the Money
account and investment transaction reports on my desktop. But when I try to
"import into quicken", the status bar goes about 40%, then I get a message
saying "cannot locate QWWIN.dll", and the procedure stalls and locks up. It
tells me that reinstalling Quicken may solve the problem, I did uninstall,
then reinstall, no success. If I search my quicken files manually, qwwin.dll
is there. Someone please help.
Thanks in advance,
fj

In my experience those Eskimos have never been good programers. You might
try the Intuit web site instead.

Please log in for more thread options Hello fj,
I have been a Quicken user since the early 90s. Last year, for reasons
unrelated to this thread, I converted to Money. This I'm back to
Quicken. I also tried to convert my Money data with no success. The
instructions were exporting account by account. What I did was run the
both Quicken and Money for a week simultaneously (involves double
entries, etc) and then at a month end or year end (whichever you prefer)
I made sure my net worth statements lined up in both programs and cut
over cleanly to Quicken. This does mean you have no history, however,
you can always just hang on to the Money file for any history. It's not
perfect and certainly not great for investment history but it is the way
that causes the least amount of grief.

Are you using Windows XP? Are you running as the same user that
installed Quicken?
I am not certain that the data converter is intended to work
with Canadian versions of Quicken/Money, but if you are unable
to get the process to work, and Intuit Canada's policies are
similar to Intuit US's policies; you can get free assistance
from Intuit Canada.
