But, I forgot to say, you can then remove the file as soon as it has been
transmitted. And/or, in my case, at the university they assign a password
that's pretty strong for ftp access.

Nevertheless, I would not send my quicken files in any electronic way other
than via physical transfer, e.g. on a CD sent by mail. I also have to
admit that PGP looked good to me, but I've never really investigated it,
because I can't quite figure out how the password thingy works there. I
haven't really tried to figure it out either.

On the other subject, when someone would ask to have a real email address
for me, I would give it out to that person, or when there would be more
than one person I would spell it out, like blood club at verizon dot you
figure out what

Your best suggestion was the CD via snail mail or, barring that, hand
carried. Anything else for sensitive data is asking for trouble.
