Anyone having issues with Etrade not correctly reporting transactions when
comparing holdings?
I have had this happen before and now seems to be happening again

Yes. I believe mine is related to some stock certificates I had
deposited. I did this for two stocks and when I compare the entries in
the Investment Account on the Web, they were not recorded the same.

I only have that happen for one account, and it tarted recently when I
sold some shares of one stock while retaining additional shares of that
stock. Quicken tells me that E*Trade thinks my balance still should be
what it was before the sale. Earlier this evening I finally got tired
of the message and disabled Quicken online access for that account and
then reenabled it. When Quicken did the download and comparison this
time it did not report any discrepancy so I think I've solved the problem.

The other difference that I encounter regularly is with reinvested
dividends. I let the transaction be downloaded from E*Trade and then
Quicken always tells me that the share balance in Quicken and at E*Trade
do not match. The difference in the number of shares owned is always in
the .000xx range. I edit the downloaded transaction to to adjust the
number of shares purchased by adding or subtracting the small difference
and the problem is eliminated. It appears that E*Trade downloads the
fractional share transactions to only three decimal places, but
downloads the total share balance to five decimal places.

Vanguard does the opposite. Downloads shares to five significant
digits after the decimal but compares against three. I round the
transactions in the same manner they use on the website (which also
shows three decimals) so I am generally off in the 1/1000th position.
I don't accept the placeholders when I reconcile.

Why they do this bugs the hell out of me.

i might try the deactivate and reactivate of online acceess to see if that
helps. have you double checked that even though there is no reported
discrepancy, your shares are correct? in what Etrade reports
