Hi All,

After deleting some old quicken files from the back up folder on a back up
drive I found I had a problem.

When I went to back up some up-dates the a dialog box complains that " file
path of the file you've selected is greater than 260charactors.....". So far
I haven't found out what to do to get this data backed up.

Can someone point me in the right direction?
Any help appreciated.

Jim

Your file name is too long. Rename your file to something shorter and
more current. May even need to back up without having the date added.

The number of charactors of the filename includes the entire path name. If
you have the file buried beneath numerous sub-folder then the filename can
easily exceed the 260 charactor limit. Move the Intuit folder up a few
levels until you can back up the file sucessfully.

The easiest way to do that might be to map the folder (or the parent
folder) as a drive. Then the path to the backup folder might become
something like:

T:Q_Backup
