I just downloaded ibank_3_manual.pdf and
ibank_3_quick_start.pdf and read most of the
manual.

It looks like it has all the features of Quicken
and I'll wager that they actually work!

So for $60 I can have a working and useful
financial program.

It looks like a well written Mac program, unlike
Mac Quicken 2007 that looks like a crappy Windoze
interface.

I think I've solved my Quicken problems. iBank 3!

Don't move too fast. Here's a sample from here:

"Anyone who thinks this is a good program hasn't really used it. This
has got to be one of the worst programs I've ever had the misfortune of
buying. Prior to this I was a Microsoft Money user for about 10 years.
It would normally take me 5 to 10 minutes to reconcile my bank statement
each month. iBank takes me hours each month. Issues: when balancing your
account you put in the FROM and TO dates of your statement. iBank then
proceeds to create an extract of just those items that fall within those
two dates. Standard accounting dictates that you choose all open items
prior to the ending statement date. Since this doesn't occur actual open
items prior to the FROM date do not appear as open. If an item appears
on your statement prior to the FROM date, the only way to reconcile it
is to remove it from your register and re-enter it while you're in the
statement mode. There were times when I had to re-enter up to 10 checks.
In addition to this fiasco when I wrote and complained to iBank they
told me they would add this to there enhancement list. This is not an
enhancement this is basic functionality. There check numbering system
does not work properly. When assigning checks for posting from the
scheduled tasks, all checks post with the same check number. The program
is very slow when performing any kind of tasks. Entering checks, saving
checks, backing up the file, everything crawls. There are many more
issues, these are just some of the major ones. (Version 3.1)"
