I don't know if this is your situation, but I recently had the same
sort of problem - and it was due to my stupidity. Using Q H&B 2007
(Australian), I had downloaded and reconciled a CC account, including
a transfer from my cheque account to pay the balance. Later I
manually entered some data in the cheque account, including that
payment again to the CC account. Then, later again, when I was
reconciling the cheque account, I found the duplicated entry, and
deleted the transfer instead of the manual entry.
At least that's how I recall what caused the fun hours of chasing the
stuff-up!
Cheers,
