I have similar problems with discussing my wifes investment accounts
with Vanguard. I have her call and get connected with the service desk,
after they verify that she is the owner of the account she turns the
conversation over to me.
This is a security issue for the bank.
They want to be sure they are indeed talking to the owner of the account
before they will take any actions. I would hope that once they verify
your aunts identity and account ownership they would then discuss the
problem with you. Be sure to have both of you on the phone when you
discuss the issue with the bank. That way if they have any questions
of your aunt she will be available.
Hope this helps.
