I've been using Quicken since 1994 and it's been great for checking accounts
and my IRA contributions. Everything I've manually entered including the
transactions for my IRA has been fine and I haven't had any discrepancies.
My problem is tracking a 401 plan from Prudential; the placeholders are
throwing things off. Last year and received a few placeholder and was
advised just to leave them alone. This year I received more placeholders
that reflect a share adjustment (negative numbers) and this is causing my
portfolio view not to display Gain/Loss % and Gain/Loss in the portfolio
view. The placeholders from last year didn't impair this view, however the
new placeholders with the negative numbers seem to have created this
problem. I called Prudential and they would not offer any help as far as
resolving the placeholders. Prudential said it was a software issue. I did
do a Google search on this but there seems to be more questions than
answers, I have all the history but I have no idea how to edit to correct
the issue, do I edit "Enter missing transaction" or "Estimate Average cost",
please advise. I have Q2005 Deluxe, TIA
