I just installed Quicken Deluxe 2009 on a windows xp2 box. An
uninstalled version of quicken deluxe 2005 is also on the computer. i
left it there, as i will be returning this pc to its owner, and
installed 2009 in a folder called quicken 2009.
After the install, a window asked if i wanted to update. I said, update
now and it crashed. i got these error messages:
"not all of the files needed to update quicken were found, update not
completed"
Question: is the program looking for files on my pc or online?
"an error occurred while loading updates"
Question: what error?
Question:
Subsequent attempts to run the Quicken 2009 Update Utility produce this
window:
"The update for Quicken 2009 was not completed Reason: An error
occured while loading update plugins."
Hmmm.
Question: How can I tell which revision I have? I couldn't find an
About page in the help file.
Question: How can I tell what wasn't loaded?
I can open quicken and create accounts from the File menu, even imported
a qif, but it closed when I tried to create an account from their "we'll
guide you through it" screen.
I haven't registered it yet, although it is registered on another pc in
the household. I don't know if this problem exists on that pc.
I'm upgrading from Quicken 6 on win98(se) so I know the basics, but am
unfamiliar with this updating process.
Any help will be most appreciated.
Thanks.
