I have a store bought quicken 2007 basic which I have been using for
several months. My needs are simple, no online stuff, just keep track
of my bank accounts and credit cards.

Well, anyway, I am running it in windows xp and for some reason it no
longer lets me enter new transactions. Is this some kind of ploy to
get you to register or something?

Have any of you had this problem?

By the way, I did download the update thinking this my solve it, but
nope, same thing.

Thanks

Don't know if this will help you but...

I once ran into this problem when working on a file on a USB drive - turns
out I had run out room on the disk. (It would have been nice if there was
some kind of message advising of the problem). Freeing up space on the disk
solved problem, as did copying the file to my hard drive.

I have 89 megabytes free. Is this too little?

I would say this is not your problem, then (my thumb drive was FULL). Sorry
I can't help.

It may very well be. 89 MB is not a lot of free space for a hard drive.
You may be running into a Windows space problem where Windows does not
have enough space to do its memory management, etc.

Free up some space and see what happens.

Delete temporary files, unwanted programs, etc.
