I seem to recall there was a way to specify
the frequency of - updating financial institutions -
daily, weekly, monthly
but maybe it was a manual update to the config file
vs an actual setting...

was running Quicken 2004 --> now Quicken 2006

The frequency of "scheduled updates" can be specified (which
days of the week): they only run when you're not using Quicken
and they won't upload anything (like bill payments), just
download.

hi -
I thought there was a sub-dir that had the old "banklist" info,
and that list was updated on a frequent basis - needed or not -
But, that was back a long time ago (Q2000/Q2004) according to my email archive
with respect to a sub-dir /inet/banklist.txt

Sorry, I misunderstood your original post.

I know of no way to schedule the frequency of the update of the
financial institution info; now (Q2005 & Q2006) found in
"fidir.txt" in:

Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication
DataIntuitQuickenInetCommonLocalwebBanklist

I think that file is normally updated (during One Step Update)
at least every two days, possibly every day. If you feel it is
not up to date, you can force an update. In the Online Center,
hold down the CTRL key and click "Contact into", select your
financial institution, check "Financial Institution Branding and
Profile", click Refresh. Then initiate a One Step Update with
nothing checked.

tnx again John -
I was thinking in the other direction - less frequent.
I found it - it's in the index.ini file.
Doing a search of the C: originally didn't find the Banklist sub-dir -
because it was tagged as hidden.
