I am a newly divorced, single mom. I adopted my daughter in
2005. My home burned down in 2004. My then-husband and I
were uninsured; the value of our home was approximately $90k
(we were building out-of- pocket). We had many
collectibles, valuables, building materials, tools, etc. I
can itemize then according to Form 2194...but I simply don't
know where to start and don't have the $185 per hour to hire
a tax professional.
Can someone please help me by providing info? Do I have to
be a victim of a natural disaster to use Form 2194?
Any other suggestions? I am too exhausted and depressed to
deal with all of this, but I know I need to get it done
with. I'm tired of it hanging over my head!
