Says...

"You can now use Form 4868 to obtain an automatic 6-month
extension (generally 4 months if you are “out of the country”).
You no longer need to file Form 2688 for an additional extension
of time. See General Instructions on page 2."


When did this change?

The last form 2688 (add'l 2 month extension) I have is for 2004.

IRS announced the single automatic six-month extension on Nov. 4, 2005.
