The IRS website says that you can edit their PDF files and save your
work, but when I open the file in Acrobat Reader 7, it says that you
cannot? What is the deal? Specifically I am looking at the form 941
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f941.pdf.

Thanks,
Tom

There's something wrong with your copy of either the form or Reader. I just
downloaded the current version of the Form (02/08), and I'm using Reader
8.1. It worked fine.

Update both and try again.

I don't believe 'reader' permits the save. It should allow you to print
with the data and maybe 'print to file', but I only have full Acrobat,
so I'm guessing there.

It's the permission level IRS has granted to the document (their only
way they can try to ensure any data entered and retained is not
modifiable later once it's left their site).

imo, etc., ...

you first said you were using version 7.0. Have you tried two different
versions? That form works for me in 7.0. When did you download it from
IRS.GOV? maybe you should download it again and see if perhaps they
corrected a problem in their document?
