My husband had a 401K that he left with a company in Texas about 7
years ago. While I know that was negligent on our part, at this time,
we are just trying to locate it to roll it over. It was with Scudder
Investments until 2002 at which time all active employees' plans were
rolled over to Fidelity, but the co. told us they have no record of an
account with his name on it with Fidelity. The lady I talked to at
the co. (which has merged twice since then) told me that she recalls
that the non-active employee plans were "left with Scudder". She says
she has no other information to give me. Scudder, of course, has no
record of us at all. I have been on all of the "free" database search
engines for unclaimed property through the state - does anyone have
any other ideas for me? I read somewhere that these are often
transferred over to an IRA- but if that was true in our case, where
would I look for that? Thanks!
