New Jersey Homestead Rebate Question Michael 10-17-2007

My GF and I own our condo Jointly. The NJ rebate claim form
had both of our names preprinted on it. I filed it via phone
but erroneously (just pressed a number too fast) answered
the question "Do YOU--note again we had both of our names
preprinted as owners--own the property with someone who is
not your spouse?"

I erroneously pressed the button for "No" and finished the
rest of the Claim via Phone.

I of course want to correct this error IF I have
inadvertently (by pressing no --m y GF and I are not
married) submitted incorrect information which will result
in either too large OR too small a rebate. If it would come
out the same amount wise I will take no action.

Do joint owners who are married get larger/smaller/same
homestead rebateamount as joint owners who are not?

The rest of the Form seems geared to only ONE person's claim
(i.e.,asking for the amount of NJ Income entered on "my"
return, etc.). She did not file a separate claim for the
rebate. We are splitting the check inter se but I do not
want to get too much or too little. If I'm off is there a
way to "amend" the phone claim?

Goofy questions I know but thanks for any help or links to
where I can get my questions answered before contacting the
State..

Use this link for complete info on the "Homestead Rebate" on
the middle left of the page. Over to the left of that,
there are contact numbers. Mouse that link to find the best
way to make contact and how to resolve the problem. It
could be that there would be no difference in the refund
amount but that would depend on the incomes involved.
