Are annuities considered part of the estate as far as the total value of
the estate. The annuties have four beneficiars listed with equal amounts
to be distributed to each. Thank you in advance for any information.

Generally, yes. Ohio Rev. Code Ann. 5731.09 Annuities.

There are exceptions for annuities arising from government
employment. Also, the value of the estate includes the
value of the annuity only in proportion to the decedent's
contributions to the purchase price. Anything contributed
by an employer is not taken into account.
