A friend and her husband are retired, and have an AGI of about $72,000 from
pensions, Social Security, and IRA distributions.

They filed a paper return by mail in February.

So far they haven't received the rebate.

Do they get it? When does it come?

Yes.

When it gets there. You've already been referred to the IRS information,
but don't rely on it. (If they received a 2007 refund by direct deposit,
they should check their bank statements because the advance payment should
already be there.)

If they don't get an advance payment they'll get the refundable credit on
their 2008 return.

I'll agree on the "don't count on it" part...we filed electronically w/
bank info and from IRS dates are well past the transfer periods
according to SSN and schedule...

If the income is close to the borderline of 75k then they might check
it more closely.

I had to file paper and have a SSN ending that means I should get my
check after July 16. But the IRS site says:
"We are sorry. Specific information about your Stimulus Payment is not
available."

So I have to wait and see ...
