My daughter got an interest bill for late payment. She paid it. A few days
later she got a notice that the interest due was being deducted from the
rebate she is getting. So what will happen to her payment. Will it not be
accepted, will it be applied to her 2008 estimated taxes, will it be
refunded, or will the $7 be used to pay off the national debt?

Eventually it'll get refunded. She'll get a notice about it in a few weeks
to a few months.

If that's all it took these days......
