If I rent out my primary residence for half a year, and go travel, do
I have to check the box that asks yes or no if I rented the house for
more than 14 days. My accountant says that's only for vacation homes
and since this was my personal residence, I don't have to check the
box. True or False?

False. Any house can be a rental property, whether it's a plain old
