This is not a question, nor it is political opinion, but the
link is posted at the request of an esteemed colleague.

Periodically this urban legend pops up. I have received it
many times in both my business and personal mailbox. It
involves members of congress and social security. I won't
quote the entire message, but please go to:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/taxes/taxes.asp

and read about congressmen paying into (or not) social
security. We of this group ought to help put this one to
rest.

Actually that home page "snopes" bears bookmarking in your
browser (favorites in that da*ned Microsoft Explorer!)

It pops up every few months on
alt.social-security-disability, and I squelch it with the
facts (relying heavily on the Snopes page), yet like the
undead it keeps rising to vex those of us who know better.

It seems to be one of those things that some people believe
_has_ to be true, and no amount of evidence to the contrary
will convince them otherwise. Just like the "notch babies."
