I have recently visited a number of tax blogs in search of a
"tax controversy," but have not been successful.
Specifically, I am looking for a recent case where the
Commissioner of the IRS did not acquiesce to the tax court's
decision.

I am a graduate student major in accounting at chicago
writing a paper for a tax research class. Any help will be
appreciated. My e-mail is included below if you wish to
contact me.

we came up with one for one of your classmates in
mid-February. But with a month to go inn tax season,
I doubt anyone has the time to look into it again.

The topic we conjured up for your classmate was U.S. v.
Roland Harry Macher. If you search back through this
newsgroup, you can have the same information he got.

Drew Edmondson pointed out at the time that a Google
search on "nonacquiesce" produced 67 hits. I suggest
you start there.

Tax blogs are not the best place to go. The best place is
at the library - either the BNA or the CCH income tax
reporters. They have digests of cases and indicate whether
the IRS acquiesced or not for each case.

If you do a google search of that word only for the domain
"irs.gov" you will come up with 703 hits.
