I have a question I cannot seem to find a straightforward answer to in
way of how my taxation should be filed correctly.
I am employed by a Ltd Umbrella company in order to get paid by a
recruitment agency whom I work for one of their clients.
My expenses are filed by the Umbrella company - eg. Fuel.
I am also a Sole Trader.
One question is, bearing in mind the work I do for the recruitment
agency as a contractor brings my annual business mileage above the
12000 mile '40p per mile' threshold. So this in mind after 12000 miles
my expenses are at 25p per mile.
When I file my self employed return as a sole trader can I claim
mileage at 40p even though as a contractor I have gone 'over the
limit' already, or is it done on an individual basis, regardless of
how or who you work as?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
