I was under F-1 OPT (international student) visa for 2007 and
requested my company to not deduct FICA/medicare during that period
since I thought I was a non-resident alien. I transitioned into a H1-B
status in October 2007 and the FICA/medicare was deduced correctly
since then. Unfortunately I just discovered that I am considered a
resident for tax purposes during my F-1 days since I had stayed in the
US for longer than 5 years. Am I in deep trouble?
